On the calendar, summer starts on June 20, but out here, the unofficial start to summer is Bermuda Day (the fourth Friday in May). Bermuda Day is celebrated with a parade through the City of Hamilton, followed up by a Gombey dance party, food stalls, and live music.

Cricket starts in late June and runs through mid-September. It peaks in late July or early August with Cup Match – this event is played over two days, but the pregame and post-match celebrations turn it into a much longer spectacle! The top players from around the island compete in two teams, one representing the West End and the other, the East End. In addition to cricket you’ll find lots of delicious Bermudian food, music, and a festival atmosphere.
