Our backyard, your playground.
Our Bermuda is full of surprises, and as you travel around every charming corner you can learn about our storied history, meet our charismatic residents, and play on our blushing pink beaches. Contrary to popular belief, Bermuda is not in the Caribbean – you’ll find us in the North Atlantic, about 650 nautical miles from Cape Hatteras, North Carolina. Protected by the Atlantic’s most northern reef system, Bermuda’s waters were once a challenge for even the most skilled sea captains. Today, they welcome sailors, snorkellers, and scuba divers to explore an incredible world on – and below – the sea.
About Bermuda
On our island, there are endless opportunities to dive headfirst into Bermudian culture: savour a bowl of fish chowder with the perfect blend of rum and sherry peppers in every spoonful, dance along with the Gombeys while cheering “AYO!” and tossing dollar bills, or admire our unique white roofs – ingeniously designed to collect rainwater, they’re a testament to Bermuda’s creative, resourceful spirit.
Bermuda is made up of nine distinct regions, called parishes – each offering a unique slice of island life. From St. George’s historic charm in the east to the beaches of Southampton and Sandys in the west, each parish brings its own blend of culture, nature, and history.
To get a lay of the land, take a closer look at Bermuda’s parishes and what makes each region special.
Bermuda’s eastern parishes—St. George’s, Hamilton Parish, and Smith’s—blend rich history with natural beauty. From the cobblestone streets of historic St. George’s to the crystal-clear caves of Hamilton Parish and the serene trails of Smith’s, this side of the island offers a quieter, more scenic escape with plenty to explore.
St. George’s is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the oldest continuously inhabited English town in the New World. Nestled on Bermuda’s east end, this charming town is rich in history, cobblestone lanes, colonial architecture, and scenic waterfront views. From historic forts to vibrant local shops, St. George’s offers a timeless glimpse into Bermuda’s past.
Bermuda’s central parishes—Pembroke, Devonshire, and Paget—offer a perfect balance of city life and natural beauty. Home to the capital city of Hamilton, Pembroke is the island’s vibrant heart, while nearby Devonshire and Paget provide peaceful neighborhoods, lush parks, and scenic coastline. Together, they form the island’s dynamic core, where convenience meets charm.
The City of Hamilton, Bermuda’s vibrant capital, is the island’s hub for business, culture, and dining. Lined with colorful buildings and a scenic harborfront, Hamilton offers a lively mix of shops, restaurants, galleries, and historic landmarks—all within a walkable, welcoming setting. It’s the energetic heart of Bermuda, where island charm meets urban buzz.
Bermuda’s western parishes—Sandys, Southampton, and Warwick—are known for their stunning coastlines, iconic beaches, and relaxed island vibe. From the historic Royal Naval Dockyard in Sandys to the pink sands of Horseshoe Bay in Southampton and the quiet coves of Warwick, the west end offers a perfect blend of natural beauty, history, and laid- back charm.
The Royal Naval Dockyard in Bermuda is a vibrant hub of history, culture, and entertainment. Once a key British naval base, it’s now home to museums, shops, restaurants, and attractions like the National Museum of Bermuda and Dolphin Quest. With stunning ocean views and a lively atmosphere, the Dockyard is a must-visit destination blending the island’s past and present.
