The small, round fruit grows wild on the island – fresh ones can be eaten right off the branch, but they also make their way into a variety of Bermuda dishes and drinks. In the spring, many Bermudians’ pantries are stocked with homemade loquat jam. The spread offers just the right piquant taste to give your morning toast extra zing. Making your own is a snap.
