6 Great Places to See Live Music in Bermuda
From steel pan drums to the infectious rhythms of the island’s traditional Gombey dancers, live music is everywhere in Bermuda.
What better way to unwind and take in the island life than with a cool drink and a live show? Bermuda has tons of talented musical acts you can catch at venues island-wide. Here's a sampling of some of the live music acts and venues you can find.
1. THE PICKLED ONION
Vibe out at the Pickled Onion, located on Hamilton’s popular nightlife destination, Front Street. House lounge beats make it the chillest Tuesday night in town, or dance the night away with DJ Rusty G on Friday nights. Grab a bite too – the Rockfish Tacos go great with one of the signature cocktails (try the Lemonade Stand).
2. SEA BREEZE LOUNGE AT THE LIDO COMPLEX
When the sun goes down on Elbow Beach, get ready to chill in style. Sea Breeze Lounge offers sushi, tapas and cocktails under the stars, with live vocals and instrumentals supplying some soulful and beach-appropriate sounds. Unwind with acoustic classics on Thursdays and Saturdays or turn up on Friday nights with Silver City.
3. THE FROG & ONION PUB
A popular stop located in the historic Royal Naval Dockyard, the Frog & Onion Pub is a great spot for late-night live music in a classic British pub atmosphere. Enjoy some English pub food and a cold beer brewed onsite at Dockyard Brewing Company, the island's only brewery. Head down on Thursday nights for karaoke!
4. HOG PENNY RESTAURANT & PUB
The oldest pub in the capital, Hog Penny opened on Burnaby Hill in 1957. The dark wooden bar is decorated with items collected from pubs all over England, which lends an atmosphere of a classic British pub. Live music starts at 10 pm Friday and Saturday; it’s a mix of acoustic jams and classic rock, with karaoke on Wednesdays.
5. CAMBRIDGE BEACHES
Cambridge Beaches’ charming cottages and oceanfront dining have made it a popular destination since the 1920s. Today, Bermudians and visitors alike flock there for live music and entertainment throughout the week, including acoustic tunes that go perfectly with a sunset dinner.
6. THE REEFS
This beachfront resort is tucked along Bermuda’s picture-perfect South Shore on a beautiful stretch of sand. When the sun goes down and the beach gear is tucked away, The Reefs’ live entertainment includes a beach BBQ paired with acoustic guitar, ukelele, and classic rock favourites to get you dancing.
