Bermudian artist Alexandra Mosher connects to her island home not only with a creative heart, but with ocean-blue eyes that see into the sublime. The result is stunning jewellery, which she sells at Alexandra Mosher Studio Jewellery.

INSPIRATION ALL AROUND

Her inspiration comes from discovering the unseen, and transforming these objets d’art into internationally acclaimed jewellery. Using the island’s famed pink sand as her primary medium and the region’s plants and animals as her muse, she personally handcrafts every piece in her boutique – rings, bracelets, necklaces, earrings and pendants. To leave Bermuda with a piece of her jewellery is, indeed, a rare and literal way to take a piece of the island with you.

As one might imagine, the artist in Mosher connects with the art that surrounds her. Among her many inspirations are sunsets at the The Dock at the Waterlot Inn, wandering through the latest creations at Bermuda Clayworks and reflection time at her “second home,” Stonehole Bay.

Creative expression IS EMBEDDED DEEP WITHIN THE BERMUDIAN SOUL.

Arts and culture are everywhere,” she says. “Whatever inspires you, you’ll find it here: music, galleries, festivals, cuisine – creative expression is embedded deep within the Bermudian soul.”

A PERFECT DAY IN BERMUDA

When asked about the perfect day for a visitor, she ponders the question a bit. “That’s hard,” she says. “There’s so much to see and do. But if I had to choose, I’d start the day with a stop at Rock Island Coffee, then some beach and snorkelling time, an afternoon at the Bermuda National Gallery East in St. George’s, cocktails at 1609, dinner at Bolero and dancing at Red.”

“Yes,” she adds, “it sounds like a lot. But Bermuda has so much to do, you can’t waste any time.”
