Jason Sukdeo is a hard man to define. He’s a musician, event promoter/organiser, a self-described “radical” for unity and a renowned disc jockey performing under the moniker D’General. In short, he’s a man of tireless energy, powered by a love of life.
Music, he believes, is a great unifying force, capable of bringing together Bermudians of every background. His personal passion is for Soca music, a psychedelic fusion of soul, calypso, percussion and a hint of pop music.

TAKING ON BERMUDA DAY
Jason elevated his profile in Bermuda in 2013 by constructing a Soca truck and entering it into the Bermuda Day parade. Was it a hit? When he repeated the performance at the 2014 Bermuda Day parade, 6,000 people were dancing along behind him.
Speaking about his most recent mission, he says, “Bermuda Day is a huge celebration, but unfortunately it’s celebrated on a weekday. Needless to say, absenteeism is a problem the day after, so I’ve started a petition to move it to the Friday before America’s Memorial Day.”
WHERE THE PARTY'S AT
Like his music, Jason has a passion for his island home. Whether he’s dining on Sticky Toffee Pudding at The Dock at the Waterlot Inn or sipping a cool beverage at the Docksider Pub, D’General takes advantage of all Bermuda has to offer.
“Don’t miss the chance to get out on the water,” he says. “Look up UberVida and book a spot on their All Day Dreaming excursion. And save up some energy for the nightlife,” he adds. “Make your way to Front Street in Hamilton and trust me, the party will find you.”
