Bermuda Launches First Ever Dive Month In April

Bermuda Tourism Authority announced a partnership with the island’s dive industry to launch the inaugural Bermuda Dive Month in April 2022. Throughout the month-long celebration, visitors of all experience levels will enjoy exclusive classes, thrilling aquatic adventures and an array of ocean-themed happenings.

“Bermuda’s clear, blue water has attracted divers of all abilities for more than a century,” said Douglas Trueblood, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, Bermuda Tourism Authority “With more shipwrecks per mile than anywhere else in the world, the island has been listed by National Geographic as an ‘unmissable diving destination.’ Bermuda Dive Month is the ideal opportunity to immerse yourself in our underwater culture.”

Mark Diel, scuba enthusiast and owner of Dive Bermuda said, “We are thrilled that Bermuda is getting the recognition it deserves both as to its incredible reef and marine life and the huge number of wrecks we have the choice to dive. We truly are spoiled, and we welcome the opportunity to share this with other divers whether you are a seasoned veteran or its your first time trying the sport out we literally do have something for everyone. Dive month gives us a chance to showcase this, and we look forward to all the activities and events that are forthcoming”

Bermuda Dive Month experiences include:

  • Dive Bermuda at Grotto Bay – Throughout April, Dive Bermuda will offer a Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) beginner programme at a discounted rate of $200. The programme will include a theory and equipment class before taking part in a shallow water session. Once attendees successfully complete the class there will be an option for a reef site dive to a maximum depth of 40ft/12m.
  • Dinner Date & Dive at Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute (BUEI) – Enjoy a series of three entertainment nights (April 8, 14, 22), during which couples and friends can book a “dinner date” at Harbourfront followed by a dive movie/dive panel in BUEI’s auditorium. The all-inclusive ticketed package includes food from Harbourfront and a craft cocktail made with Gosling Brothers Black Seal Rum.
  • Under the Sea Fantasea at Bermuda Aquarium & Zoo (BAMZ) – On April 9, families will indulge in a themed day at the Bermuda Aquarium Museum & Zoo (with the BAMZ admission fee waved), during which a diver will discuss sea life with children and their parents. There will also be food trucks, mermaids, pirates, and a Dive Bermuda booth where kids can try on Scuba equipment.
