With a temperate climate year-round, Bermuda knows alfresco dining. Options include a rooftop deck perched over Hamilton's Front Street and an oceanfront terrace dishing out a star chef's inventive island cuisine. Here are some ideas for getting outside and chowing down.

1 Ascots Restaurant

Experience one of Bermuda’s most recognized and award-winning fine-dining restaurants alfresco style. Located in the Royal Palms Hotel, a converted turn-of-the-century manor house, Ascots specialises in continental cuisine.

2 Astwood Arms

Enjoy classic pub fare with a Bermuda twist — ginger beer battered fish 'n' chips, English trifle with loquat liqueur at this popular spot on Front Street.

3 Bella Vista Bar & Grill

6 Bone Fish Bar & Grill

Bermuda’s Royal Naval Dockyard always buzzes with activity thanks to its museums, shops and regular cruise-ship arrivals. One of the best spots to sit back and people watch is Bone Fish Bar & Grill’s expansive patio, which has sweeping Great Sound vistas. Chef and owner Livio Ferigo specializes in seafood and Mediterranean-style dishes, but he also makes a mean rib-eye steak. The spot stays lively till the wee hours, with a late-night menu served until 1 am.

7 Devil's Isle Restaurant

Exceptional food and coffee coexist at Devil's Isle in the City of Hamilton. The restaurant's inventive menu is anchored by wholesome ingredients from local organic farmers and the outdoor terrace is ideal for sharing a meal or small plate over a glass of wine or award-winning cup of java.

9 Docksider Pub & Restaurant

Docksiders Pub

Known as “Dockies” by locals, this Front Street favourite is one of the best-loved sports bars on the island, serving wings, burgers, nachos, beef pies and other pub fare.

10 Flanagan's Irish Pub

Bermuda’s only traditional Irish pub, Flanagan’s Front Street location near the Hamilton Ferry Terminal makes it a great place to stop in after a snorkelling tour or a day of downtown shopping and sightseeing.

With its main dining room located on an open-air deck at sand-level on Elbow Beach, Mickey’s earns its beach restaurant label. April through October, this spot at the Elbow Beach Bermuda resort serves lunch and dinner while the waves roll in and the palm trees sway. The Mediterranean-meets-island cuisine includes local grilled seafood, creative pasta dishes and, at lunch, a traditional fish sandwich. Staffers will even arrange a private, romantic candlelit dinner right on the sand.

Pastry chef and photographer Joerg Rudolf’s café is a welcome retreat on Dockyard Terrace, at the edge of the Victualling Yard. The most casual of afternoon tea spots, enjoy a simple but classic selection of cream cheese, cucumber and smoked salmon sandwiches and over-sized scones served with fresh cream and strawberry jam.

32 The Wharf

Enjoy panoramic views of historic St. George’s Harbour from the large outdoor patio at The Wharf, the biggest waterfront dining spot in St. George’s. You’re sure to find something delicious on the eclectic menu, which features everything from curries and cottage pie to pastas and fresh seafood.
