Bermuda Tourism Summit Returns Celebrating the ‘Power of Partnerships 2.0’
Bermuda Tourism Authority (BTA) has announced the return of the Bermuda Tourism Summit. Organisers have invited tourism stakeholders, business owners, and members of the community to join the forum. The daylong summit will take place on Friday, November 18, 2022, at the Hamilton Princess & Beach Club under the theme Power of Partnerships 2.0.
The event will not only provide updates on BTA sales, marketing and partnership activities but will feature speakers dispensing industry insights and introducing tools and techniques to help support tourism entrepreneurs, employees, and employers. Attendees will hear from the BTA’s new leadership team on ongoing initiatives, upcoming programmes, and the overall strategy for leveraging partnerships for success.
Joseph Diaz, co-founder of the travel magazine, Afar, will deliver the keynote address on the Power of Partnerships 2.0 during the lunchtime session.
Tracy Berkeley, interim Chief Executive Officer, will deliver an opening address on tourism’s outlook for 2023 and said, “We are excited to convene our community of tourism stakeholders as we explore the summit’s partnership theme. We have selected a slate of local, international, and in-house presenters with expertise on various issues of concern to the industry. This is an opportunity to reconnect with the community, celebrate our industry partnerships, and forge new ones.”
Ms Berkeley continued, “We lead an industry that means so much to a broad cross-section of the country. Bermuda’s tourism renaissance depends, in large part, on how well we work together to achieve the aims of the National Tourism Plan. For this reason, deepening stakeholder engagement has been a crucial part of our strategic recovery efforts. The BTA Tourism Summit is one of a series of targeted outreach initiatives to the community and we encourage those interested in contributing to the success of Bermuda’s tourism product to register today.”
The summit agenda includes interactive sessions focusing on challenges and opportunities surrounding the island’s airlift, developing successful visitor experiences, and recruiting and retaining a quality tourism workforce. Digital media experts will help business owners and tourism marketers with the tools to manage their online reputation and optimize their digital footprint on Google and Apple platforms. They will also guide attendees on content development and best practices to leverage TikTok, the world’s fastest-growing social media platform. Publishing giant, Hearst which owns Luxury Collection (Elle, Esquire, Harper’s Bazaar, Town & Country Magazines), will send editor Kevin Sintumuang, Culture & Lifestyle Director at Esquire magazine to join a panel moderated by Kiwan Anderson, Director of Communications, PR & Content Development. Publicists and writers from the UK, US, and Bermuda will also be featured on the panel. Together, they will provide a masterclass in storytelling for capturing earned media coverage and achieving public relations success.
The Bermuda Tourism Summit 2022: Power of Partnerships 2.0 is open to all. The $35 registration fee includes access to all sessions, refreshments, and a buffet lunch. The registration portal accepts payment by Mastercard or Visa only.
