When disco diva Deloris Van Cartier witnesses a crime, she is placed in protective custody in the last place anyone would look—a convent! Disguised as a nun, she finds herself at odds with both the rigid lifestyle and the strict Mother Superior. However, using her unique disco moves and singing talent, Deloris inspires the church's struggling choir, helping her fellow sisters find their voices while unexpectedly discovering her own. 

Based on the iconic 1992 film, this spectacular stage show combines high-energy dance routines and a powerful score by multi-award-winning composer Alan Menken. It is a sparkling tribute to the universal power of friendship, sisterhood, and music.

Cassava Explores the relationship between island life, identity, spirituality, femininity, ancestry, and the everyday moments that often become our most meaningful memories. Through bold 2D imagery, textured painting, music, and atmosphere, the exhibition invites people to slow down, feel, remember, and connect with something within themselves.

Artist note - This exhibition is also deeply owed to my grandmother and the legacy she represents. Her influence becomes part of the foundation of this body of work—a way of honouring where I come from while creating something that can be shared with everyone. In that way, the exhibition becomes a unifier: bringing different generations, backgrounds, and perspectives together through art.

As part of Art Month in Bermuda, you are invited to slow down, look more closely and experience photography in a different way.

Slow Down & Notice is a creative experience that blends mindfulness, photography and connection. We'll begin together with a simple mindful practice designed to help you become more present and aware of what is around you. From there, we'll head out on a photography walk, using our phones to notice color, shape, light, texture, detail and the moments we might normally pass by.

This isn't about being a professional photographer or getting the perfect shot. No photography experience is needed. It is about seeing differently, becoming more intentional about where you place your attention and allowing photography to become a way of slowing down and being present.

After the walk, we'll share some of the images we've captured and talk about what we noticed along the way. We'll continue the conversation over wine and light refreshments, creating space for reflection, creativity and connection.

Bring your phone, your curiosity and a willingness to notice more.

From 7-10pm, come enjoy delicious warm drinks, live painting by Kay the Healer, a creation station where you can make your own art, and live performances by Purple Ferdinand, Sion Symonds, and Pink Sand Band.
