About King's Square

King's Square is the heart of the Town of St. George, a local gathering place and a great spot to begin a walking tour of historic St. George's. Colonial-era buildings line the square, including the Bermuda National Trust Museum and the Town Hall from 1782, with its rich Bermuda cedar interiors. The Bank of Butterfield occupies a building from 1776 that was used as a mess hall during the American Revolution. Just outside you'll find the stocks and pillory, replicas of devices used in the 18th century for public punishments. Along the waterfront is a replica ducking stool is the site of reenactments in colonial costume.
