W.E.R. Joell Tennis Stadium

The W.E.R. Joell Tennis Stadium, located just outside Hamilton at Bernards Park, is a historic and community-focused facility dedicated to promoting tennis for all. Named in honor of William E.R. Joell, a pioneer who fought against discrimination to ensure equal access to the sport, the stadium features 8 courts—5 hard courts, 3 clay courts, including one practice wall, with three courts lit for evening play. The venue hosts grassroots clinics, junior programs, leagues, and major tournaments, reflecting Joell’s legacy of opportunity and inclusion.

In 2023, pickleball courts were added, further expanding recreational options. With a bird’s eye view of the courts and a commitment to accessibility, the W.E.R. Joell Tennis Stadium continues to serve as a vital hub for tennis development and community engagement in Bermuda.
