About Bermuda Historical Society Museum
Journey through 400 years of Bermuda history with collections that feature maps, furniture, portraits, documents and other artefacts from the 1600s to today. The Bermuda Historical Society was founded in 1895 and it’s housed at Par-La-Ville, the Georgian-era home of former City of Hamilton postmaster William Bennett Perot. While perusing the small museum, look for the sea chest and portrait of Sir George Somers and his wife. Somers was among the shipwrecked sailors who colonized the island in the early 1600s.
