Masterworks Family Workshop: Clay Sculpture With Meg Walters

About Masterworks Family Workshop: Clay Sculpture with Meg Walters

Join exhibiting artist Meg Walters for this 2-part workshop to explore the diverse and experimental properties of clay. Part 1 will be led by Meg Walters and focus on hand-building techniques, incorporating a versatile paper clay. You will discover different ways to sculpt, build and model this dynamic clay, applying stains, underglaze and slip. Part 2 will be led by Blair Raughley Masters and focus on how to apply glaze from a painterly perspective, learning techniques to achieve different organic results. If you're interested in finding more freedom in your practice, and expanding your knowledge on sculptural hand-building or application of glaze, this course is for you.

This 2-part workshop is offered in connection with Palimpsest, on view in the Rick Faries Gallery May 1 – June 27, 2026.

Bermuda Dive Festival
Island Wide

The inaugural Bermuda Dive Festival invites ocean lovers to experience one of the Atlantic's most remarkable underwater destinations while celebrating the island's deep connection to the sea. Bringing together divers, scientists, local operators, and visitors, the festival showcases Bermuda's vibrant reefs, historic wrecks, and thriving marine life. Anchored by programming at the ASU's Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences, the event highlights the quality, diversity, and accessibility of Bermuda's waters while supporting local businesses and positioning the island as a world-class dive destination.

Across three immersive days, guests can build skills and explore iconic sites through hands-on workshops and guided dives. Highlights include underwater photo and video training, a Fish ID certification course, and two-tank dives at celebrated locations like Cathedral and the Pelinaion wreck, as well as West End sites with Blue Water Divers. For a truly unique perspective, a twilight-to-night dive experience at Elbow Beach with Sea Venture Diving reveals the reef's nocturnal transformation, offering divers a rare glimpse into Bermuda's underwater world after dark.

Beyond diving, the festival blends ocean adventure with curated lifestyle experiences that celebrate Bermuda's culture and natural beauty. Guests can unwind on a luxury catamaran snorkel with Sail Bermuda, reconnect through sunrise yoga and breath-hold meditation, and take part in a conservation-focused lionfish hunt followed by a seaside luncheon hosted by The Loren with ocean advocate Valentine Thomas. Evenings include an Ocean-to-Table dining event at The Loren, and a relaxed beach bonfire celebration featuring cocktails by Goslings, bringing together community, cuisine, and coastal atmosphere.
