When it comes to food, Bermudians have some original flavours all their own. Seek out these items for an only-in-Bermuda foodie experience.

1. Gosling's Rum

With a history stretching back to the early 19th century, Gosling’s Black Seal Rum is the key ingredient in Bermuda’s two signature cocktails, the Dark 'n Stormy® and the Rum Swizzle, and a key accent in Bermuda's famed fish chowder.

2. Barritt's Bermuda Stone Ginger Beer

Bermuda’s soft drink of choice since 1874, Barritt’s is a zesty and refreshing beverage that can be enjoyed on its own or mixed with rum, vodka, beer or exotic liqueurs. 

3. Outerbridge's Original Sherry Peppers

The recipe for sherry peppers sauce originated centuries ago, but it wasn't until 1964 that someone thought to bottle and sell it. Outerbridge's Original Sherry Peppers is an island staple known for its role in Bermuda fish chowder, but it’s capable of adding flavour and fire to all kinds of grilled foods. 

4. Tucker's Farm Goat Cheese 

Tucker’s Farm has quickly made a name for itself on the island thanks to its fresh and flavourful cheeses, including the spicy Full Hot variety made with Gosling’s Black Seal Rum and hot peppers. 

5. Alex & Pete's Bermuda Artisan Ice Cream

Since launching in 2014, Alex & Pete’s new line of handcrafted ice cream has been winning raves, thanks to its delicious Bermuda-inspired flavours. 6. Chiko's Smokey Rub

Michiko Campbell, former Sous-Chef de Cuisine at the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club, is the creator of a popular brand of seasoning called Chiko's Smokey Rub, which dials up the flavour of chicken, beef, pork and seafood, as well as a host of other meats.

7. Devil's Isle Coffee

Coffee lovers should make a beeline to Devil’s Isle Coffee. The 100% Arabica beans are hand-roasted and expertly blended using a small-batch process that brings out their unique flavour profiles.

8. Somers Amber Ale 

As opposed to the longstanding tradition of rum-making on Bermuda, craft beer is a relatively new development. But it’s off to a great start at the famous Frog & Onion Pub, where its on-site brewery, Dockyard Brewing Co., has quickly earned the love of locals and visitors alike. Start with a pint of Dockyard's flagship ale, a crisp and refreshing Pilsner-style beer named for Bermuda’s founder, Sir George Somers.
