Bermuda: Accessible For Everyone

Several Bermuda taxi and minibus services provide wheelchair accessible transportation, making it easier to get from place to place. See below – and be sure to call ahead to make the proper arrangements.

Additionally, Bermuda’s convenient public ferries are easily accessible from the Hamilton Ferry Terminal, the ferry dock at Royal Naval Dockyard, and the Rockaway ferry point in Southampton. Important note: Bermuda’s public buses do not have wheelchair access.

• Bermuda Island Tours: See the sights of Bermuda aboard a comfortable, air-conditioned bus during a fully customizable tour, from historic hot spots like the Town of St. George to Bermuda’s beautiful beaches.
• Haunted History Tour: Hear true tales and ghost stories from storytellers in period costumes as you tour the historic Town of St. George after dark. Tours cover about half a mile and are wheelchair accessible.

• Tobacco Bay: This scenic bay at the northernmost end of Bermuda is surrounded by unique rock formations.
• John Smith’s Bay: A long, flat expanse of pink sand, John Smith’s Bay is located close to a convenient parking area.
• Horseshoe Bay: Bermuda’s most popular beach has a limited number of beach wheelchairs available for the disabled.
• Snorkel Park: Part of the Royal Naval Dockyard complex on the West End, Snorkel Park Beach has everything you need for a day at the beach – from a beach bar and restaurant to bathrooms, lockers and fun activities.

• Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute (BUEI): This accessible attraction offers interactive exhibits galore, ranging from shipwrecks to marine life.
• Bermuda National Gallery: The BNG’s Bermuda Collection features artwork spanning from the 1600s to the present day, and offers a revealing look at Bermuda’s discovery, development and cultural influences
• Bermuda Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity: Located in the heart of Hamilton City, Bermuda Cathedral features stained glass, arches and an ornate wall behind the altar containing sculptures of Christ and several saints
• St. George World Heritage Centre: Discover where Bermuda was born as you explore this massive, restored 19th-century warehouse with a variety of interactive exhibits. Don’t miss the short film “A Stroll Through St. George’s.”
• Fort St. Catherine: Most of this historic fortress is easily accessible for those in wheelchairs, letting you easily explore centuries-old ramparts, fascinating exhibits and more.
• Bermuda Aquarium, Museum & Zoo (BAMZ): Featuring one of the world’s oldest aquariums, a natural history museum and a zoo with 300 birds, reptiles and mammals from islands around the world.

Before arriving on island, call your hotel to request a wheelchair accessible room and ask to speak to the concierge or front desk manager to ensure that all your mobility needs will be met. Bermuda hotels with handicapped accessible rooms include
