About St. Peter's Church
Tour the oldest Anglican church in continuous use outside the British Isles, part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site at the Town of St. George. St. Peter's, Their Majesties Chappell (a royal title bestowed by Queen Elizabeth II) was originally built in 1612, but has been reconstructed and improved over the years. The original altar, as well as an 18th-century throne salvaged from a shipwreck and communion silver from the 1600s, can all be found inside. Its two historic cemeteries were segregated for white and black Bermudians, and the western extension is now a stop on the African Diaspora Heritage Trail.
Take the African Diaspora Tour at St. Peter’s Church on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11 am
