Multi-generational Travel Product Development

This growing trend focuses on families traveling with three or more generations who seek to strengthen bonds through shared cultural and heritage experiences. The challenge lies in developing inclusive products that balance the diverse physical needs and interests of both seniors and children to create a seamless family legacy.

Social Media & Sustainable Destination Management

Social media acts as a double-edged sword, capable of fueling overtourism in "Instagrammable" hotspots or highlighting "undertouristed" gems that need economic support. Tourism leaders must find innovative ways to use digital influence to redistribute visitor flows and encourage travelers to respect communities as living places rather than just photo backdrops.

Cultural Industries & Tourism Innovation

While music, film, and festivals are major drivers of visitor arrivals and hotel occupancy, the economic benefits for local communities are not always guaranteed. To maximize impact, destinations must professionalize event production and create stronger linkages that ensure local artists and small businesses benefit directly from entertainment spending.

The New Age of Tourism Professionals

The Caribbean faces a critical skills gap where traditional hospitality training often falls short of the demands of a modern, tech-forward industry. Repositioning tourism as a high-value career path is essential to developing a specialized workforce capable of driving sustainable transformation across the region.

Why It Matters

This initiative forms part of Bermuda’s National Tourism Plan, which recognises the importance of local involvement in building a strong and sustainable tourism industry.

By engaging young Bermudians early, the programme helps raise awareness of the wide range of career pathways connected to tourism and the opportunities it creates both locally and internationally.

This programme supports Bermuda’s National Tourism Plan, with a focus on local involvement and youth development.

Your voice. Your future. Your Bermuda.
