Girls' Getaway, Weekend Trips: 3 Days in Bermuda
With secluded beaches, exciting cuisine and a certain allure, Bermuda is the perfect location for a weekend away with the girls. Around 90 minutes by air from many East Coast cities, it’s easy to make the most of your sun and travel time, but it’s not all pink beaches and sparkling blue seas out here.
Stay at the historic yet modern Hamilton Princess, at the edge of the City of Hamilton and find yourself at the centre of a distinctly elegant island loaded with culture, character and style. Only a five-minute walk from the capital’s boutiques, bars and restaurants, the hotel features a chic spa by Exhale® and an enviable modern art collection.
Day 1:
Start the day with fresh juice, avocado toast and Mediterranean-inspired breakfast bowls with organic eggs and Bermuda greens at Devils Isle Café in the City of Hamilton. Their house coffee is roasted in small batches and the season-focused menus are perfect for enjoying local ingredients and the local scene while people watching on the outdoor terrace or from the central communal table inside.
Walk the colourful streets of the capital for retail therapy. Find locally-designed wares from whimsical jewellery and prints at 1609 Design Bermuda on Old Cellar Lane, a narrow, cobblestone alleyway; Bermuda-branded sarongs and straw bags from Atelerie; gold and silver charms and pendants from fine jeweller Davidrose Jewelery; home-made teas, bath and beauty products from Urban Cottage in Front Street’s historic Somers Building.
For the perfect keepsake, Della Valle’s custom sandals are fitted to your foot in their Queen Street shop. The Capri-style creations come in a variety of heel heights, Tuscan leather straps and sparkly embellishments that feature coral, turtles and seahorses. Create a style all your own – each pair is finished with your initials embossed in the leather sole.
A quick jitney ride takes guests from the front of the hotel to the Princess Beach Club, a serene, private cove with nap-ready water hammocks. Sheltered on Sinky Bay, try snorkelling the turquoise waters or lounging to lounging in the sand with an island-style lunch.
Freshen up at the hotel before taking a 10-minute taxi-ride to the South Shore. Sea Breeze Lounge offers sushi, tapas and cocktails in the open, sea air, with DJs, live vocals and soulful instrumentals that will get you off your seats and on the dance floor.
DAY 2:

Start the day at the east end hotel in perfect alignment with your besties, breathing in the curative powers of the sea air. After perfecting your downward facing dog, work on your corpse pose – the signature aloe vera and hibiscus body treatment at the poolside spa is designed to balance the body’s energy pathways through pressure points on the hands and feet.

Book a private Pink Beach Club cabana for brunch. Rotate between the plush lounge chairs to a refreshing dip in the modern pools or a take a stroll along the beach. Attendants provide everything from magazines to pool bites and cold cocktails.

Make your way to the Town of St. George, a UNESCO World Heritage site and stop at the Bermuda Perfumery to craft your own signature scents. Master perfumer Isabelle Ramsay-Brackstone offers perfume-making workshops in the historic Stewart Hall. Her own Bermuda-inspired fragrances are blended and bottled on site. The line includes luxury candles, samplers and rich, creamy soap-on-a-rope. Intriguing and enigmatic yet attainable, you’re left with a lingering taste of your time out here.

Have dinner on the porch at Huckleberry. Built in 1906, the Rosedon is a charming, Bermudian, Relais & Châteaux, boutique hotel, in Hamilton, surrounded by lush tropical gardens, towering palms and bird of paradise. Their worldly wine list has a focus on organic and biodynamic winemakers from the old and new world. Their menu has a Southern lilt. Soul food favourites such as hush puppies and shrimp and grits, seem invigorated alongside an addictive, Asian-style chopped cabbage and kale salad.
Day 3:

Harbourfront Restaurant
Savour a casual lunch at the Harbourfront Restaurant, while taking in sweeping views of Hamilton Harbour. Located right on the water at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute (BUEI), the restaurant offers great views from the outdoor terrace.

Sail Bermuda
Later that afternoon, take a boat cruise through the harbour to Paradise Lakes with Sail Bermuda. Enjoy a catered dinner aboard the Shekyna, a 51’ Morgan sailboat built in the 1970s, as the sun sets on the perfect friends’ weekend.
