Bermuda Tourism Authority Unveils First-Ever Holiday Window Display in Collaboration with Saks Fifth Avenue
The Bermuda Tourism Authority (BTA) has teamed up with Saks Fifth Avenue to launch island-inspired holiday activations through New Year’s Day, bringing sunshine and extra vibrancy to the island of Manhattan. Anyone visiting the iconic Saks Fifth Avenue New York Flagship store will see exterior windows along the 49th Street entrance bursting with resort style and Bermuda’s iconic triangle, while spirited in-store vignettes and events entertain fourth floor shoppers.
“We are thrilled to join New York’s beloved holiday festivities, lighting 49th Street with Bermuda pinks and blues and bold photography,” said Jamari Douglas, Bermuda Tourism Authority’s VP of Marketing, PR & Communications. “Millions of people flock to the neighborhood to see Saks’ breathtaking holiday windows and renowned light show and as the luxury retailer’s exclusive destination partner for the season, spectators will get a taste of Bermuda, too.”
Offering a glimpse into the culture, fashion, and warmth of the destination, Bermuda and Saks’ online and in-store activations across the Saks Fifth Avenue ecosystem include:
- Double the Holiday Magic – Bermuda is bringing much more than its famous shorts to Saks. Two captivating windows, positioned just outside of, and the best shortcut to the Saks Fifth Avenue Holiday Market, offer style and vacation inspiration. For a digital daydream, scan the QR code on the windows and be transported to pink sand beaches, oceanside golf courses and world-class resorts – with packing advice from the experts at Saks and vacation planning tools from Bermuda Tourism Authority to match.
- On Dec. 14-15, from 2:30-6:30 p.m., shoppers and onlookers can enjoy an immersive in-store island escape. This two-day in-store activation features complimentary beach tote customization, music, a putting green, champagne, and Bermuda’s national drink, the Dark ‘n Stormy®.
- Bermuda is giving away a three-night trip for two, including round-trip flights and accommodations. The social media contest is running from Nov. 22, 2023 to Jan. 3, 2024. All you have to do is: follow @Bermuda and @Saks on Instagram, take a photo in front of the Bermuda window to post on Instagram (via stories or in-feed) using the campaign hashtag #BermudaXSaks, and let us know why Bermuda is a dream destination for your next celebration. Winners will be announced on Jan. 5, 2024; terms and conditions apply.
Bermuda is a place of blended cultures where a variety of celebrations abound. By early December, the pastel-hued buildings across the island, from historic St. George to the bustling town of Hamilton are decked out with sparkling lights, wreaths and garland. Spiny lobster season is at its peak, fueling to hearty seasonal dishes chased with Rum Eggnog Ice Cream. The new year – and its mild winters – brings a fresh slate of events including: three days of runs at the Chubb Bermuda Triangle Challenge Weekend (Jan. 12-14) for the active-minded traveler, Bermuda Restaurant Weeks (Jan. 18-Feb. 29) for the foodie, Spa Month (Feb.) for the wellness guru, and so much more.
